Amberlea

The Amberlea community is a predominantly family-driven community. The Amberlea Neighbourhood boundaries are to the west by the Altona Forest, to the north by the hydro transmission corridor and Canadian Pacific rail line, to the east by the Pine Creek valley north of Finch Avenue and the rear lot lines of properties fronting Spruce Hill Road, and to the south by the Canadian National rail line. 
 
There is a great selection of school and childcare centers in the area; all within a 2-kilometer radius. The two high schools in this neighbourhood are St. Mary Catholic Secondary School and Dunbarton Secondary School, and the three elementary schools include Altona Forest Public School, Highbush Public School, and St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School. The three childcare centers include Schoolhouse Playcare - Altona Forest PS, Schoolhouse Playcare – Highbush PS, and First Steps Child Care Centre. Another great feature about this community for families is the five neighbourhood parks in this community and additional highlights of this neighbourhood are the Altona Forest and the Rouge-Duffins Wildlife Corridor.
